"I'll Take It From Here"

Dear President Bush,
I believe we have all been touched by the tragedy of Sept. 11th. I
have written a poem in dedication to all those who have been affected by
this tragedy. I hope that it will bless you and your family.

CHRISTMAS IN AMERICA

What will Christmas be like this year?
For there are many heartaches, many tears.
We hear of war throughout our land,
Will our nation be able to stand?

Children long for their parents strong arms,
To hold and protect them from danger and harm.
To welcome them in as they enter the door,
But they are gone forevermore.

For terrorists came to our land one day,
And with violence took our loved ones away.
They tried to destroy our courage, faith and hope,
Confident that with this loss we could not cope.

Will chemical warfare be our plight,
Or will we be able to stand up and fight?
To stand united one and all,
Or will we give in and to our enemies fall.

Let us remember a Christmas long ago,
When God came down His love to bestow.
His only Son in a manger lay,
For He had come to take our sins away.

Shepherds out on a hillside that night,
Were surrounded by a holy light.
Angels proclaiming the birth of a king,
Joy and peace to the world He would bring.

But His life would be short lived,
For He came for us His life to give.
A perfect sacrifice He would be,
That from sin we may be set free.

You see enemies came to His land one day,
And took our wonderful Lord away.
To be beaten and hung on a cruel cross,
O to the world what a great loss.

They placed Him in an empty grave,
There they thought He would forever stay.
A great stone across the entrance lay,
So His disciples could not take His body away.

But death cannot hold our Lord and King,
For He had come salvation to bring.
He arose from the grave on the third day,
His Fathers perfect will to obey.

Now He knocks at the door of our heart,
Asking us to from the world be set apart.
To open our heart and invite Him in,
That we may have real peace and joy within.

May God truly bless our wonderful land,
As boldly for the Lord we take our stand.
May the Bible be our sword and
prayer be our shield,
As daily to our Lord we yield.

GOD BLESS AMERICA
